Abstract

1452157 Dynamo-electric machines NIPPONDENSO CO Ltd 13 Feb 1974 06454/74 Heading H2A A rectifier assembly 3, for use with an A.C. generator feeding a D.C. load and having a D.C. field winding 12, comprises load diodes 3a-3f connectible to the generator output and field diodes 3g, 3h, 3i, providing D.C. for the generator field windings, the load diodes being mounted in recesses (4a, 4b, 4c, 5a, 5b, 5c, Fig. 4, not shown) in cooling plates (4, 5) and being electrically interconnected by conductors 6a, 6b, 6c on a printed circuit board 6, the board having a further conductor 6d for connecting the field diodes to a regulator 11, the field diodes being connected between the conductors 6a, 6b, 6c and the further conductor 6d. The generator shown is a three phase generator and the load diodes form a three phase bridge rectifier, the three diodes, e.g. 3a, 3b, 3c, on each side of the bridge being electrically connected to the cooling plate, e.g. 4, on which they are mounted. Corresponding diodes on opposite sides of the bridge, e.g. 3b, 3e, are soldered to and interconnected by one of the printed conductors, e.g. 6b. The field diodes 3g, 3h, 3i, are connected to the printed conductors using connection cups 6f (best depicted in Fig. 6, not shown). The connection cups 6f on conductors 6a, 6b, 6c also receive, in the assembled generator, the output leads of the generator winding 2. The rectifier assembly is mounted on the inside surface of a bearing bracket 25, Fig. 7 (not shown), of the generator.
