Abstract

1451536 Automatic control of speed & current SOC GENERALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES ET MECANIQUES ALSTHOM 5 Feb 1974 [16 Feb 1973] 05353/74 Heading G3R A speed regulating system for a D.C. motor includes a motor armature regulating loop, the current being controlled to a desired value dependent upon the actual and required motor speed. The desired current is calculated by a regulator 11 according to signals from amplifiers 19, 20, 21 and from controller 27 which has a proportionalintegral characteristic. Amplifiers 19, 20 are fed respectively from the speed reference 10, and an actual motor speed sensor 9 e.g. a tachometer. The difference between the actual motor speed and the output of a model 25 is fed to amplifier 21, to controller 27 and to corrector 29, which also receives the difference between the sensed armature current and the derivative of the model output. The output of corrector 29 is fed to controller 27 along with the speed reference and the actual motor speed signal. The armature current is regulated by amplifier 3 which may include transistors or thyristors. The controller 27, corrector 29 and model 25 may be as Fig. 4, Fig. 5 and Fig. 7 or 8 respectively (not shown) and include analogue amplifiers, multipliers and/or integrators. Amplifiers 19, 20, 21 and controller 27 may include a device Fig. 6 (not shown) to cancel the D.C. components of their respective inputs.
