Abstract

1451035 Stowing a fork lift on a vehicle; stabilizing elevators MACHINERY & LIFTS ESTABLISHMENT (ANSTALT) 23 April 1975 16793/75 Headings B8E and B8L A wheel mounted fork lift truck is actuated by a double acting piston 1 and has lifting forks 5, 5<SP>1</SP> provided with roller balls 6. A device for loading the truck on to a vehicle comprises channel rails 11 joined by a bridge 10 and supported by telescopic legs 12 so that the rails 11 can be rested on the vehicle platform with a stop 13 against its rear edge. To load the truck on to the vehicle the rails are rested on its platform while the forks 5 are raised above it. Lowering of the forks rests them in the rails 11 and continued lowering raises the track until it is level with the platform on to which the truck can then be moved horizontally on the rollers 6 and the truck wheels. The bridge 10 is then removed and loaded manually. A modified truck has the frame pivotally mounted so that with the truck on the vehicle the frame can be swung up on to its platform.
