Abstract

1428902 Heat-treating silicon steel ALLEGHENY LUDLUM INDUSTRIES Inc 6 May 1974 [7 May 1973] 19804/74 Heading C7A Steel containing in percentage by wt. is hot worked, annealed at 1400-1700‹F for 15 seconds to 2 hours, cooled at a rate equivalent to that in still air, cold-rolled with at least 80% reduction without intermediate annealing, decarburization annealed and finally annealed to produce a cube-on-edge structure providing a permeability of at least 1850 (G/Oe). The initial anneal may be carried out in nitrogen, hydrogen, argon or air.
