Abstract

1448681 Mechanical switches STOVES Ltd 7 Nov 1974 [29 Nov 1973] 55362/73 Heading H1N An electric switch 14, Fig. 2, adapted for operation by the spindle 12 of a gas valve (not shown) of a gas-fired electric appliance has its operating pin 18 arranged parallel to the shaft 12 for engagement by a bevelled face 32 of a lever 22 which is positively rotated by a cam 20 on the shaft. On initial actuation by anticlockwise rotation, recess 26 engages lobe 36 to rotate the lever 22 clockwise while on continued rotation of the shaft 12 the concave face 34 rides over the cam surface 28 so that the shaft 12 is free to rotate without affecting the switch. On reverse rotation, lobe 24 engages lobe 36 to positively return the lever 22 to release the switch pin 18.
