Abstract

1309460 Electric switches ARROW-HART Inc 29 July 1970 [30 July 1969] 19536/72 Divided out of 1309459 Heading H1N An electric switch comprises a rockable actuating shaft 14 having a pinion 20 engaging a rack 18 which is biased against movement in either of two directions, and switch contacts being actuated by a cam 24 also located on the shaft. The cam surface 25 engages a plunger 40 in a contact actuating arrangement within housing 38 which is described and claimed in parent Specification 1,309,459. The shaft 14 is rotated by a rocker arm 28, the switch shown in Fig. 2A being actuated by clockwise rotation of shaft 14 although the arrangement can be converted for anticlockwise rotation, Fig. 4 (not shown). The rack 18 is biased into its neutral position by springs 34, 36 engaging partition 19 within the rack.
