Abstract

Seat attachments. - A pillion seat for motorcycles &c. is supported upon two longitudinal members d by means of two spiral springs f at the rear and by two leaf springs c at the front each of the leaf springs being connected to the underframe by a longitudinally adjustable bolt d<1>, and being slidable laterally at its upper end along a transverse rod b. The seat is secured to the luggage-carrier by means of a pair of transverse members e carrying hooks or clamps i at their ends to engage the longitudinal bars of the luggage-carrier frame. The members e each comprise two portions connected together by means of a bolt h<1> passing through slots e', so that they may be adjusted to carriers of different widths. In a modified form, the transverse members e are dispensed with, the seat being secured to the lateral bars of the luggage-carrier by clamps at the front and rear ends of the members d. In this form, the coiled springs f may hang below the rear ends of the members d, and be connected to the seat by a rod joining their lower ends to the seat frame.
