1447387 Furniture joints JULIUS BLUM GmbH 21 Nov 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 54114/73 Heading F2M In a furniture joint of the kind wherein a casing 1, e.g. of plastics material, is let into one furnitue element 3 and a dowel pin 4, fitted into an edge portion of another furniture element 5, is adapted to be received in a socket provided eccentrically in the casing, the dowel pin having a head portion engaged by a retaining device, e.g. a rotatable cam 6, to lock the dowel pin in engaged position within the socket, the casing is provided with a slot or slots 9, Figs. 2 and 3, or with other locating surfaces, e.g. the edge surfaces 10 of a raised portion 11, Fig. 5, for engagement by a tool of a machine (not shown) for inserting the casing in a recess in the element 3, so that the casing is automatically aligned during such insertion. Preferably, the casing and dowel pin have integral ribs 7 of saw-tooth form to retain them firmly in the elements 3, 5.
