Abstract

1446960 Valves VETCO OFFSHORE INDUSTRIES Inc 14 June 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 26589/74 Heading F2V In a gate valve for use underwater opposed seats 28 each have pins 54 which engage with shoulders 50 on the gate in its uppermost position so that the bonnet B, gate, and seats can be withdrawn out of the body as a unit. Seal 92 between the bonnet and body is retained on the bonnet by a ring 96. The gate has a flow opening 33, a closure disc 32 and is secured by pins 38 to a threaded stem 5 which is received in a rotatable but axially-fixed internally threaded stem 40. The seats have cylindrical outer faces, flat gate-engaging inner faces and are located by pins (66) relative the bonnet which in turn is located by pins (84) relative the body.
