Abstract

1445841 Heating or cooling liquids in bulk RW PLASTICS & ENG Ltd 16 Nov 1973 [2 Dec 1972] 55778/72 Heading F4S A bulk storage container for liquids comprises an inner cylindrical shell 26 separated from an outer cylindrical shell 28 by an annular chamber in which is a tube coil 30 carrying a heating or cooling fluid, the chamber between the shells around the coil being filled with a synthetic resin compound 29 such as glass fibre resin. Preferably the inner and outer shells are made of a laminate formed of polymerized synthetic resin (e.g. polypropylene) and glass fibre. The tube may be of oval or circular cross-section and of synthetic resin or of metal such as copper or stainless steel. The container may be encircled by a layer of thermal insulating material which itself may be in a shell or skin surrounding the outer shell of the vessel. The container shown has formed therein a stand 22. The container mouth is normally closed by a lid and at the lower end of the container is a normally closed drain hole 34.
