Abstract

1442974 Needling machine DR ERNST FEHRER TEXTILMASCHINENFABRIK U STAHLBAU GmbH & CO KG 24 Feb 1975 [1 April 1974] 7631/75 Heading D1R An array of rods having a fixed leg 9 an acute angled bend 11 and a free leg 12 facilitate the transfer of a non-woven web from feeding rolls 6, 7. to the perforated stripping plate 4 of a needling machine, the free legs 12 forming a parallel array in a horizontal plane to guide the upper surface of the web. As shown, a second array of rods having fixed legs 10 has free legs 12 which guide the lower surface of the web. The upper and lower arrays are staggered to prevent "streaking" of . the web. The acute bends 11 of the rods extend in annular grooves 8 in rolls 6, 7. The arrangement allows the position of stripping plate 3 to be adjusted to accept webs of different thickness.
