1442407 Door operating mechanisms for lifts LIFTMATERIAL (G B) Ltd 27 Nov 1973 9 July 1973] 54998/73 Heading B8L [Also in Division E2] A shaft door operating mechanism for a lift, comprises a hook latch 1 pivoted to the shaft door 5, 6 and having a locking roller 11 which is hooked behind a locking rail end 16 in the door closed position, is lifted above the locking rail 15 when the latch 1 is pivoted upwardly by a dog plate 2 on the lift cabin door, and is guided by a fixed hook 8 downwardly again to rest in a shaft door open position. As the cabin approaches a shaft landing, the dog plate 2 on the cabin door passes into position between a pair of dog rollers 12, 13 on the hook latch 1. The initial opening movement of the cabin door causes the dog plate 2 to pivot the hook latch 1 until the dog rollers 12, 13 grip the plate 2 therebetween, whereafter the latch 1 and telescoping shaft door sections 5,6 open with the cabin door until the locking roller 11 engages the hook 8 when the latch 1 is pivoted downwardly and the shaft door moves further than the cabin door to compensate for the motion occuring when the latch 1 swung upwardly at the start of the opening movement.
