Abstract

1,093,352. Door fastenings; sliding bolts. GRETSCH-UNITAS G.m.b.H. Feb. 19, 1965 [Feb. 20, 1964], No. 7233/65. Heading E2A. In a sliding door or window 1 comprising means for raising and lowering the door or window relative to a trolley 2 on which the door or window is mounted and which in the raised position, the door or window is movable on the trolley along guide means, locking means is provided comprising a male member 12 carried by the door or window 1 and having a free end 16 which in response to actuation of the raising means is vertically displaceable out of or into engagement with a female member 18 fixed to a floor or bottom frame member. As shown, the door 1 is arranged to be raised vertically before being slid to an open position, by upward movement of a rod 12, 13, 14, which moves the trolley to the left from the fastened position shown to cause lifting levers 5 pivoted on the trolley to pivot towards the right and thus raise the door, the member 16 then being clear of the member 18. The rod 12, 13, 14 and member 16 is enclosed in a groove at the edge of the door. In another arrangement Fig. 3 (not shown), the male member pivotally engages the female member.
