Abstract

1441715 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines DORNIER SYSTEM GmbH 25 June 1974 [7 Aug 1973] 28121/74 Addition to 1419323 Heading F1F The main invention is improved or modified in that the machine, which may be an engine, has at least two pistons 13, 23 fixed to a common rotary sleeve 3 on an eccentric 2, the axes of symmetry x H12 ,y H12 and x 22 ,y H22 of the working- chamber profiles 12, 22 being displaced angularly by a given amount e.g. 90 degrees (as shown), and the pistons being out-of-phase by twice that amount e.g. 180 degrees. The motion of the pistons is controlled by a common device, which includes discs 51x, 51y fixed to the sleeve 3 and engaging with guide-members 52x, 52y mounted on rectilinear guide means such as rods 53x, 53y. Radial sealing strips 14, 24 and axial seals 16, 26 may be provided in the casing, as shown. Balancing weights 6 may be fixed to the shaft 1 carrying the eccentric. In each of two other embodiments, Figs. 3a-4e (not shown), there are three working chambers, mutually adjacent chambers being displaced by 60 degrees, and the second of these embodiments differing from the first in that the piston-motion control device is displaced by an angle of 45 degrees. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the discs of the piston-motion control device are disposed on opposite sides of the central one of three pistons, the machine being otherwise the same as that according to Figs. 3a-3e.
