Abstract

1441338 Valves NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 29 Jan 1974 04018/74 Heading F2V In a regulating valve device for the supply of liquefied gas, e.g. propane to an I.C. engine comprising two connected chambers 2, 7 each with an inlet valve 6, 11 controlled by a respective lever 5, 10 attached to a diaphragm as 4 (other not shown), the lever 5 is provided with a movable abutment 22 which makes a loose connection with the lever 5 and is attached to a diaphragm 20 responsive to inlet pressure such that inlet pressure acting on the valve 6 tending to open the valve is counter-balanced by the inlet pressure acting on the diaphragm 20. The other side of diaphragm 4, i.e. chamber 12, may be connected to air pressure or the chamber 7. The forces which effect the opening of the valve 6 are thus those arising from the pressures in chambers 2 and 12 acting on the diaphragm and the adjustable force of the spring 14 but not the inlet pressure of the fluid.
