1440433 Extraction treatment of vegetable material GENERAL FOODS Ltd 19 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 29901/72 Heading B1Q In a process for the. extraction treatment of vegetable material, such as coffee, containing water-soluble and volatile aromatic substances, hot water is introduced by the pump into the most spent column of a battery of columns and the extract liquor is passed through the succeeding columns before being withdrawn intermittently from the least spent column and there is provided an additional pump located intermediate any two of the columns and connected either in series with the first pump or to the water supply so as to be in parallel with the first pump.
