Controllers; brake devices, with auxiliary switches.- A controller spindle e carries a cam e<1> which, when the drum is in its off position, depresses the armature b on to the polepieces c', c<2> and thereby closes the main switch contacts f, h, j. The armature b is held by the electro-magnet c the circuit of which includes contacts m, n bridged, when the brake is off, by a contact k attached to the brake lever. The main switch has a carbon rod g to take the spark. With this arrangement, the main switch is opened when the brake is put on, and the controller must be brought back to zero to re-close it.
