Abstract

1439766 Valves UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Sept 1973 [23 Sept 1972] 44114/72 Heading F2V In a control for a refrigerator powered alternatively by gas or by electricity a cam (17) on a manually rotated spindle 13 positions a spring- loaded lever 51 so that a lever 47 co-operates with an actuating stem 38 of a switch in the electricity supply or an actuating stem 41 of a gas flow regulating valve 42. Thermally expansible chamber 43 acts on a lever 45 the spring loading on which can be adjusted by rotation of a spindle 58 through a cam 59 and lever 60. Lever 45 in turn is connected to lever 47. A cam (16) on the spindle 13 operates switches to allow alternative 12 v. and 110/240 v. supplies to be used. Spindle 13 also operates a main gas cock (24) to allow flow from a supply via safety valve 32 to the valve 42 when the spindle 13 is positioned for operation of the valve 42 by the lever 47.
