Abstract

143,566. Overn, J. May 22, 1919, [Convention date]. Regulating.-Relates to a series of pivoted gates or vanes 16 for controlling the admission of water to a hydraulic turbine 12. Each gate 16 is mounted on spindle 19 between enlarged collars 26, 27 fitting into shallow recesses in the plates 17, 21. The spindles 19 are turned by a ring 22 connected thereto by cranks 25 and links 24. Instead of forming the gate 16 integral with the collars 26, 27 and the spindle 19, it may be made detachable by securing it to feathers 32, Fig. 7, on the collars by means of pins 33.
