Abstract

1435245 Printing and perforating apparatus ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLIECHER AG 16 Aug 1974 [16 Aug 1973] 36252/74 Heading B6C [Also in Division B4] A multi-colour offset printing press is provided with perforating strips pasted on the blanket of an offset cylinder co-operating with a demountable and exchangeable foil stretched around an impression cylinder. The invention is particularly applicable to 5-cylinder printing units, Fig. 1 (not shown) where one blanket cylinder (4) Fig. 2 (not shown) is provided with longitudinal perforating strips (6) Fig. 3 (not shown), and the second blanket cylinder 7 has transverse strips (9). The foil 13 replaces a copper plate which is the printing impression surface; sheets 14 being printed or perforated are held between bar 18 and pivotable grippers 17; the bar 18 may also pivot about shaft 33 to allow the end 22 of foil 13 to be inserted into a fastening device 19, comprising a spring- loaded angle iron 23 bearing against the bottom of cylinder gear 15 and provided with a hook 25 acting on a reinforcing bar 21 of foil 13. The other end 28 of foil 13 is tensioned by shaft 30.
