1433252 Longwall, mineral-mining installation COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 14 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 25116/73 Addition to 1298590 Heading E1F The gate roadway forming apparatus of Specification 1298590 is modified in that broken out rock falling into the shield 32 of the apparatus is moved across the shield 32 by a pusher member 37 mounted on the cutter-carrying boom of the apparatus onto a conveyer 34 that carries the rock rearwards from the shield. Preferably the rock drops down through an aperture 35 in the shield onto a conveyer located on the longitudinal axis of the apparatus and is conveyed to a hopper 36 at the rear of the apparatus, the hopper being associated with pack forming equipment.
