Abstract

1430784 Fibre opener; open end spinner MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 5 June 1973 [7 June 1972] 26682/73 Heading D1N In a fibre opener of an open end spinner, a support surface leads outwards from a surface surrounding a clothed opening roll, supports a removable cover, and defines with the cover a gap forming an angle of less than 45‹ to, or lying parallel to, the rotation axis of the roll. Gap 19, Fig. 3, is formed between a support surface and a cover for roll 7, the angle α being less than 45‹. Other gap shapes are shown in Fig. 4, where distance a is less than a', in Fig. 5, where the angle is negative, and in Fig. 7, where gap 27 precedes gap 26 and has conical entrance 28 cleared by roll needles 29. The gaps are said to prevent an accumulation of fibres.
