Abstract

1430652 Pneumatic conveyers LTG LUFTTECHNISCHE GmbH 28 March 1973 [29 March 1972] 14841/73 Heading B8A Articles conveyed through a duct by a current of air are delivered to a guide spaced from the outlet of the duct such that the conveying air had little or no effect to convey the articles further. In the figure, textile articles, e.g. stockings are placed in supply stations 10 and despatched at intervals through ducts 11 to common duct 15. The air current in duct 15 is produced by an injector 22 downstream of the supply stations. The articles leave the duct 15 under the influence of the air current and inertia and arrive after free flight at the guide means 30 leading to receiving station 19. The articles travel along guide means 30 by inertia and gravity, the force of the conveying air current having been dissipated at the outlet of duct 15. An alternative embodiment provides a mesh connecting the outlet of duct 15 and the guide 30 to prevent losses during free flight, and an opening in the latter part of guide to dissipate any remaining conveying air. A second alternative embodiment provides a shoot as the guide means (Fig. 4, not shown). The spacing between the outlet of the duct 15 and the guide means may be adjustable.
