Abstract
1430203 Mixing apparatus JOHN KERR & CO (MANCHESTER) LTD 10 Sept 1974 [15 Sept 1973] 43402/73 Heading B1C A device adapted to be installed in a gas flow line for providing optional foam generation or normal throughflow of gas without foam generation comprises an inner duct 23 and an annular outer duct 16, a valve 24 in the inner duct which may allow normal throughflow of gas through the inner duct or divert a part or all of the gas to the outer duct, foam producing means including sprays 18 and a net 22 in the outer duct, and control means 21 for controlling the supply of liquid and foam compound to the sprays, the valve 24 and control means being operatively interconnected. The flow control device may comprise two simultaneously operated valves giving the required proportions of water and foam compound or may include a single water control valve followed by a Venturi device for inducting a proportion of foam compound to to enter the water flow. The gas may be air, inert gas or a mixture of inert gases.
