Abstract

1429097 Letter boxes J BADER 29 April 1974 18669/74 Heading A4T A letter box 12 is provided with means for indicating the reception of mail comprising switch means 18 operable e.g. on opening a lid 16 of the box or when an item breaks a radiation beam on insertion, an indicator 22 for recording the fact that the switch means 18 has operated, and reset means 24 for cancelling the indication. The indicator, 22 is preferably an electric light inset into a push button forming the reset means 24, a latching circuit (21), Fig. 2 (not shown), being provided for maintaining the indication. The reset means 24 may be provided on a container 25 mounted remotely from the box, a battery 23 within the container 25 supplying power.
