Abstract

1427079 Fluid couplings; coupling casings to impellers KLOCKNER-WERKE AG 13 July 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 33464/73 Headings F2C and F2U In a hydrodynamic coupling having a rotating housing, the housing is formed of a part 9 having blades 7 and an axially extending flange 12, and a cover part 10 which has an axially extending flange 13, flange 12 overlying flange 13 as shown and each flange having a groove 15, 16 which together define a channel 17 for the reception of a wire 19 to hold the housing parts together. The wire 19 is flexible and inserted through an aperture 18 in flange 12. Wire and channel are of rectangular cross-section as illustrated. More than one channel 17 may be provided and more than one aperture 18 and wire 19 may be provided for each channel. The opposing ends 20 of a wire (or wires) may be chamfered as shown. Pins 21 may be provided to hold the parts 9 and 10 against rotation of one relative to the other. As described the bladed wheel 5 is driving and the housing is driven.
