Abstract

1425815 Vehicle suspensions A E HARRIS 25 April 1974 [12 Jan 1974] 1552/74 Heading B7D [Also in Division F2] In a vehicle suspension, a swinging arm or wishbone arm 1 associated with a wheel of a vehicle and pivotally connected to the vehicle chassis or frame 3 acts on the lower end of a spring 4 to compress the spring upon upward movement of the arm, and an extension of the arm 1 past its pivot point 2 is linked by a rod 6 to a lever 7 arranged to act on the upper end of the spring 4 so that the spring is also compressed from above.
