Abstract

1423222 Motor controllers; electric switches, actuation INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 26 Jan 1973 [1 Feb 1972] 4114/73 Headings HIS and H1N [Also in Division F2] A control device comprises a shaft 98 which is axially movable and rotatable by a handle 26, axial movement of the shaft from the position shown in Fig. 1 operating a switch 154, to deactivate a first circuit, and varying the resistance of a totary potentiometer 178 in a second circuit, and rotation of the shaft from the Fig. 1 position operating a switch 152, to deactivate a third circuit, and varying the resistance of a rotary potentiometer 172 in a fourth circuit. As shown, snap switches 154, 152 are provided in respective automatic control circuits for the boom and the bucket of a front end loader, as disclosed in Specification 1,382,068, the potentiometers 178, 172 being respectively provided in manually-controlled boom and bucket circuits. Switches 154, 152 are operated by respective balls 138, 136 as they move out of a circumferential groove 146 and an axial groove 142 in the shaft. A spring 78 is provided around handle 26 to constitute a "deadman" arrangement which in one direction of movement can be overcome by the handle pivoting about a finger 74 and a plate 64 locking against a bevelled edge 46 of a ring 36.
