Abstract

1421895 Feeding and cutting sheets BENZ & HILGERS GmbH 26 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 13264/74 Addition to 1334610 Heading B8R A blank 1c, Fig. 1, is fed along a table until it rests on the lower part 8a, Figs. 1 and 3, of a gripper 8, whereupon a gripper jaw 10 moves upwardly through a slot in the part 8a, engages the blank centrally, and raises it into contact with an upper gripper jaw 11, raising the latter against the force of springs 21, whereupon a blade 17 mounted on bolts 18 in the upper part 8b of the gripper projects from the jaw 11 and cuts the blank longitudinally into two parts 1a, 1b, the upward movement of the jaw 10, together with fixed rollers 14b, registering the blanks laterally with respect to packaging devices. The jaw 10 may also be provided with suction channels 22 to assist in gripping lowfriction blanks.
