Abstract

1419031 Baling presses LINDEMANN MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 13 Feb 1974 [20 Feb 1973] 6542/74 Heading B5F A baling press comprises a pair of aligned press boxes 1, 2 a plunger 3 movable to compress material in the first box 1 and to move it into the second box 2, and a rectangular filler shaft 19 arranged above the first box with at least one of the transverse walls 11, 19 of the shaft movable backwards and forwards to vary the cross-sectional area of the shaft. The back wall may be moved by an hydraulic cylinder unit 20 through toggle links 16-18. There may be on respective sides of the shaft conveyer belts of widths respectively equal to the full and minimum widths of the shaft to feed respectively loose and dense material into the shaft. The press control actuates the belt according to the position of the back wall 11 and retracts the plunger 3 each time to beneath the wall 11. The box 2 tapers slightly towards its outlet and has wire tensioning tackle 15 and twisting devices.
