1418754 Mining cutter heads SALZGITTER MASCHINEN AG 8 March 1973 [9 March 1972] 11293/73 Heading E1F A cutter head for a mineral-mining machine comprises two cutter heads 17, 18 rotatably mounted on a boom 12, and hydraulic motor 51, 52 each disposed partially or wholly within an associated cutter head and having its stator fixed to the boom and its rotor connected to the carrier of the associated head, which heads converge towards each other in the direction of cutting so as to reduce trapping of cut material therebetween. Preferably each cutter head carrier is supported at its periphery on the boom by a bearing 30, 31.
