Abstract

1417880 Elevated railways; tracks J E MAZUYER 21 Dec 1973 [3 Jan 1973 2 March 1973] 59396/73 Heading B7L An overhead railway track comprises opposed rails 1 of generally inverted-U cross-section, the top face (web) of each rail acting as the track for a load trolley roller 12 running on bearing 13 on an axle 14, each rail 1 having an outer arm 2 which is fixed into a slot 8 in a support casing 4 securable at 5 to a beam, the arm 2 being gripped against a contacting part 7 of the casing 4 at any position along the length of the rail 1 by a screw 9 passing through the casing 4. The other arm 3 has a lip 10 on its inner face to receive a strip 11 whereby the rail can be joined to the next rail. The axle 14 carries a load suspension system 15 on which are mounted rollers 16 for lateral guidance of a trolley. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) the rail arm 3 has a lower chamfered portion and the inner side of that arm is also inclined in the same direction as the chamfer to form a thickened lower arm portion. The chamfers on opposed rails form a flared opening to permit swinging of the suspension system 15. The inner arm of the rail also has a rib for co-operating with a rail connection member piece as described with reference to Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
