Abstract

1416922 Coil formers PYE Ltd 29 Jan 1973 4395/73 Addition to 1332282 Heading B8M [Also in Division H1] A plastic bobbin similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,332,282, has a central portion 1, Fig. 1, for the core, and end cheeks 2, 3, cheek 2 having openings 5, for lead out wires, with separating pillars 8, and bounded by portions 6, 7 bearing portions 9 and 12 respectively, the portion 9 having a shoulder 10 with a tapered face and the portion 12 having a shouldered member 13 with tapered face 14. A terminal carrier 16, Fig. 4, is inserted by movement perpendicular to the core axis, one lug 17 being put into the space between 10 and 6 and the other lug 17 snapping into the space between 7, 12 and 13, which is resilient. Slot 11 takes fixing screws. The slots 19, Fig. 4, are for leads from the coil to terminals 18. The structure of the second end cheek may be similar and may have a cut out 15, Fig. 2 (not shown), to allow a thermal switch to be put in the winding space. A transformer Fig. 5 (not shown) employs two such bobbins and has a core formed from two "C" core sections secured by a strap. Insulation between windings may be a sleeve as in Specification 1,339,151. The terminal carrier may additionally have a fuse carrier or a voltage selector.
