Abstract

1416699 Salts of substituted p-phenylene diamines EASTMAN KODAK CO 4 Dec 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 55891/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division G2] The invention comprises the p-toluene sulphonic acid salts of compounds of the formula wherein n is an integer from 1 to 4, R<SP>1</SP> is H, alkyl other than ethyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, carboxylic acylamido having up to 4 C atoms in the alkyl component or sulphonamido groups if either R<SP>4</SP> or R<SP>5</SP> are other than H, R<SP>1</SP> may be C 2 H 5 , R<SP>2</SP> is H or C 1 -C 4 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, R<SP>3</SP> is H, alkyl, alkoxy, carboxylic acylamido or acylamidoalkyl, sulphonamido or sulphonamidoalkyl, R<SP>4</SP> and R<SP>5</SP> are the same as R<SP>3</SP>, or are the atoms necessary to form a 5- or 6- membered ring with R<SP>1</SP>.
