1416316 Cladding beams WILLIAM KENYON & SONS Ltd 17 Nov 1972 53083/72 Heading E1K A beam or column having a web interconnecting two flanges is protected from fire by first securing rigid sheets of e.g. asbestos or vermiculite to the exposed outer faces of the flanges and then spraying a fibrous mixture onto the web and the remaining flange surfaces. The fibrous mixture may comprise mineral wool, an inorganic binder and water. The beam may support a ceiling 12.
