1416293 Agitator mills NETZSCH MASCHINENFABRIK Gebr 10 June 1974 [13 June 1973] 25679/74 Heading B2A An agitator mill includes counter-elements 10 Fig. 3 projecting into spaces between the agitator elements 8 to prevent rotation of milling bodies and feed material with the agitator shaft 7, the counter-elements being adjustable into or out of the milling vessel 2 during operation of the mill. Thus the mill can start up easily and as the viscosity of the feed changes due to heating the counter-elements can be moved into the vessel either equally or more at the top, or the bottom respectively. The way 9 of the vessel 2 comprises an internal liner 13 and an outer shell 14 Fig 4 which together form a cooling water chamber 15. The counter elements 10 in each group 18 are pivoted at 21 to a shift bar 19 or a pair of shift bars. Each shift bar carries pinions 23, 24 at bottom and top respectively. The pinions are actuated by handles 25 and mesh with racks 26, 27. The racks are pivoted at 28 to the wall 9 of the mill and run on rollers 29. Actuation of the handles may be independent or all pinions may be operated at the same time by a common actuating mechanism. The milling chamber can be wheeled into position in a drive stand in known manner.
