Abstract

1413693 Circuit tripping mechanism LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE 12 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972] 1829/73 Heading H1N A device for setting the operating current of a thermal trip relay includes a bimetallic ambient temperature compensator 8 in the form of a lever acted upon by a transmission member 2 and arranged so that the point of application of the transmission member 2 on the lever is varied at the same time as the gap between the transmission member 2 and a thermally responsive element 1 is set by adjustment of a regulator arm 6 which may be copivotal with the lever 8. The lever 8 has a latch 16 which retains a slide 10 as in Specification 1,412,831. As shown, the distance b is increased as the current setting is increased so that sensitivity is reduced but if an increase in sensitivity with increase in current setting is required the pivot point of the lever 8 should be on the other side of the abutment 4 of member 2 (Fig. 2, not shown). The transmission member may be a lever with an adjustable pivot (Fig. 3, not shown).
