Abstract
1413422 Dry shavers SCHICK Inc 8 Oct 1973 [10 Oct 1972] 46811/73 Heading B4B A shaving head 18 for use in an electric dry shaver comprises a base 110, Fig. 6, having a slot 114 in which co-operating inner and outer cutters 116, 112 are releasably secured by members 134, 136, Fig. 6, opposed recesses 160, 162 formed in the base and adapted to be engaged by resilient latching detents 84 mounted in a recess of the dry shaver and coupling means 142 adapted to be connected to an oscillatable driving arm 26 so as to thereby reciprocate the inner cutter. The outer cutter 112 is provided with an element 126 having a portion 128 adapted to be located and releasably retained by the members 134, 136; openings 168 are provided in the base so that by the insertion therein of, e.g., the point of a pencil, the cutters may be ejected from the base. The latching detents 84 are shaped to engage with the recesses 160, 162 such that the head is pulled down into the recess of the shaver thereby causing the inner cutter to be urged into mating contact with the outer cutter. The head is symmetrically shaped such that it cannot be inserted into the shaver in an incorrect position; an ejector button 104 is provided for removing the head for cleaning. The head is also provided with bristles 118 for erecting the hair. An illuminating lamp 176 and lens 182 are provided.
