Abstract
1412636 Dolls F GOTZ [trading as PUPPENFABRIK HANS GOTZ] 6 Sept 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 41268/72 Heading A6S A walking doll of the type in which a motor 5 drives through gears 13 to a crank pin 14 sliding in a slot 15 of a trunk 1, 2 so that the trunk swings from side-to-side about pivot pins 36, 37 fast with the motor housing and thus raises alternate legs 23 from the ground to swing freely forward under gravity, has the legs 23 fast with disks 25 journalled upon a transverse axle 20 carried by a holder 19 fast with the motor housing and coupling discs 27 biassed by a spring 28 into engagement with the disks 25. Projections 29 and recesses 31 of the disks 25 and the coupling disks 27 are held in engagement by the biass of the spring 28, but allow the legs 23 to be turned forwards by hand so that the doll can assume a sitting posture. A rod 21 fast with the motor housing, &c extends at each end into a slot 33, 34 in the respective coupling disk 27, to limit the angular movements of the coupling disks, legs, &c and accordingly the length of stride taken by the doll. As shown, the motor 5 is electric and is powered by a battery 7. Instead of the toothed gearing 13 shewn, a V-belt drive may be employed.
