1407563 Plastics carrier bag R H SANDVIK AS 16 April 1973 18249/73 Heading A4G A plastics shopping bag is manufactured from a single plastics film bag blank by folding the blank to form a front panel 10, a back panel 12, a covering flap 13, and a closing flap 11, the panels 10 and 12 being secured together along lines 15a, 16a and the covering flap 13 being secured to the panel 12 on the same side as the panel 10 along lines 15b, 16b which are aligned with the lines 15a, 16a respectively, to form a pocket 19 to receive the flap 11. The panel 12 and flaps 13 and 11 have apertures 21, which when the flap 11 is inserted in the pocket 19 to close the bag are aligned to form a hand hold. The flap 13 may be folded double to comprise sections 13a, 13b and the flap 11, Fig.3, may have its edge cut to form tongues 11b either above or below the flap 13 and welded thereto by welds which form parts of a single continuous weld along lines 15a, 15b.
