Abstract

1407155 Mixing apparatus MASCHINENFABRIK WIFAG 20 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 53877/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for preparing a moisture mixture for an offset printing machine comprises containers 2, 3 for mixture and a liquid additive (acid) respectively, a float switch 4 actuating a solenoid valve 8 in a water supply to the container 2, and a pH sensor 12 in the mixture flow actuating a solenoid valve (9, Fig. 2 not shown) in another water supply which passes through an injector 5 having an acid induction line 6. The mixture is pumped from container 2 by a pump 11 through a crystal sand filter 10 whence part is supplied to the printing machine and part returned to the container 2. There is also a regulator (16, Fig. 3 not shown) for sensing and admitting more alcohol to the mixture if necessary.
