1406796 Shearing; planing J FROHLING [trading as JOSEF FROHLING] 14 Jan 1974 [15 Jan 1973] 01587/74 Headings B3W and B3L [Also in Division B4] To avoid deforming, and forming burr on, cut edges when dividing sheet or strip of metal, plastics, &c. material, a groove is machined by tools 2, 2<SP>1</SP> in at least one face along the intended dividing line before the sheet &c. is sheared, preferably by disc cutters 1. The machining tools 2, 2<SP>1</SP> may have bevelled or other shaped faces to provide cut edges of particular shapes.
