Abstract
1405201 Electro-photography MITSUBISHI DENKI KK 3 Aug 1973 [4 Aug 1972] 37019/73 Heading G2H Electro-photographic member 10 comprises a conductive substrate which may be in the form of a set of electrically separated but preferably overlapping electrodes 12a-12e, a main photoconductive layer 14 which is sensitive to visible light and an outer photo-conductive layer 16 which is sensitive only to ultraviolet light, and is transparent to visible light. During imaging of the member 10 by simultaneous exposure with visible light and charging a potential opposite to that applied by charging device 20 is applied through brush 34a to the electrode opposite the imaged area, and increases latent image contrast. A further potential may be applied during development. After development the image-bearing electro-photographic member may be exposed to an ultraviolet lamp 40a prior to transfer of the developed image, and a second ultraviolet lamp 40b may be used to remove the latent image after transfer of the developed image.
