Abstract

1404035 Fixing panels, doors, windows etc to frames MANNESMANNROHRENWERKE AG 8 Sept 1972 41909/72 Headings E1J and E1W A panel 1 (which may be a wall, ceiling or floor panel or a door or window in a main frame) is fixed in a space in a framework by attachment means; the end faces 6 of the panel are bevelled at both sides 7, and the attachment means comprise rails 2 having an inclined surface complementary to the panel bevelled faces 7, inserted from one side of the panel into the gap 4 between the panel and framework members 5 so as to abut face-to-face against the bevelled faces 7 at that side and 'the members 5, clamp members 8 similarly shaped and inserted from the other side of the panel, and connecting means, e.g. bolts 9, for connecting the rails 2 and clamp members 8 to frictionally clamp the panel in the framework. The rails 2 and clamp members 8 are generally of U-section with converging and diverging legs respectively to fit the bevel of the faces 7, and cover strips 11 may be clipped over the clamp members 8. The rails 2 may have an elastic coating.
