Abstract

1403912 Packaging GRIP-PAK Inc 26 July 1972 34861/72 Heading B8C A packaging device made from elastic plastics material and including a wraparound skirt 28 and an integral top 30 is adapted to be mounted in gripping engagement over a plurality of articles 12 with the top overlying the upper surfaces of the articles. A strip of the devices may be made by appropriately welding and producing tear lines in a tube of polyethylene. The device shown has finger holes 36 the edges of which are reinforced by the welding, and light occluding tabs 38 which can be tucked in beneath the top. The bottom of the skirt 28 extends inwardly beneath the bottles and may be suitably folded or heatsealed. The device may be modified in many ways, e.g. to have holes in the top for bottle necks, to have handles or tear strips, or for the top to be composed of flaps which overlap in the region of the finger holes and (optionally) also the bottle holes, the flaps being secured by adhesive, heat sealing or stapling.
