Abstract

1400819 Converting rotary into reciprocating motion HUFFORD INDUSTRIES Inc 2 Oct 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 40454/74 Divided out of 1400818 Heading F2Q A carriage 26 is driven by a mechanism 30 comprising a chain 32 carrying a pair of pusher dogs 34, 36 which operatively engage a pair of slotted yokes 38, 40 connected to the carriage 26, the pusher dogs 34, 36 being secured to the chain 32 by a pair of plates 150, 152 connected one to each side of the chain and including arcuately spaced openings 154 through which pass chain pins 146 securing the plates to three chain links, the plates also having openings 158 which receive a pin 128 carrying rollers 164 forming the pusher dogs 34, 36. The radius of the arcuate spacing corresponds to the radius of a sprocket 114 around which the chain 32 passes. In a modification, a further yoke 160 is provided opposite yoke 40, Fig. 6.
