1400454 Modified faujasite BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 9 Jan 1973 [12 Jan 1972] 1435/72 Addition to 1259384 Heading C1A [Also in Division C5] Zeolitic catalyst for treating hydrocarbons is made by extracting a Y-type zeolite with aqueous ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid to reduce its aluminium content, ion-exchanged with aqueous ammonium chloride to reduce its alkali metal content, ion-exchanged with aqueous Pt(NH 2 ) 4 Cl 2 .H 2 O, pelleted, dried and reduced with hydrogen. The finished catalyst has a SiO 2 : Al 2 O 3 mol ratio of 7À3 : 1 and contains 0À545 wt. per cent Pt and 0À78 wt. per cent Na.
