Abstract

1400346 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 16 Aug 1973 [31 Aug 1972] 38696/73 Heading G3P [Also in Division F1] A metering valve 28 which controls recirculation from an exhaust passage 14 to an inlet manifold 12 is operated by a diaphragm 32 which is subjected through a conduit 40 to modified inlet manifold vacuum. The modified vacuum is provided by affecting the flow of atmospheric air into the conduit 40 in response to the vacuum in a carburetter Venturi 18. In the embodiment shown a valve 54, operated by a bellows 60 subject to the Venturi vacuum, controls air-flow from a chamber 47 and an air bleed 52 into the conduit 40. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) a valve (54a) operated by a diaphragm (58a) subject on opposite sides to Venturi vacuum and atmospheric pressure controls communication between the intake manifold and the diaphragm 32 through the conduit 40 and air-flows into the conduit between the valve and the diaphragm 32 through a restricted bleed (52a). The bellows-operated valve (54b), Fig. 3 (not shown) may directly control the air bleed (52b) the interior of the bellows being connected to the manifold 12 and the exterior thereof being subjected to the Venturi vacuum. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) the air bleed (52c) is directly controlled by a valve (54c) operated by a diaphragm (58c) subject on opposite sides to the Venturi vacuum and the pressure in the exhaust passage 14.
