Abstract

1399967 Telescopic actuators TOWMOTOR CORP 14 Nov 1973 [22 Nov 1972] 52832/73 Heading F1D A telescopic ram, Fig.2, for a fork-lift truck, has a stop on a tubular member 16 comprising a split ring 42 and a pair of retainers 50, 52 which hold the ring in an angular groove 40. The retainers 50, 52 abut end caps 22, 80 of the tubular member 14 as it slides up and down on the member 16. The member 16 slides on a member 18 which has a stop comprising a split ring 64, a retainer 66 and a snap ring 74. When oil under pressure is admitted through an orifice in member 90 the tubular member 14 moves up until member 22 abuts the stop 50 and then the member 16 moves up on the member 18 until a member 30 abuts the split ring 64. Oil passes up the centre of member 18 and out through holes 98, 100 to extend the ram.
