Abstract

1399612 Tilting cabs FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 3 Aug 1973 37059/73 Heading B7B A tiltable cab 11 is supported in use by springs 13, 14 as described in Specification 1,399,611 and is tilted about pivots 12 by a cylinder 17 and piston-rod 18. The piston 18 is slidable in a bearing 20, Fig. 4, in this trunnion 19 having a stop 22 to limit the free movement of an abutment 21 fixed to the piston-rod 18. A suspension bracket 14 has flanges 24, 25 formed with a slot 26 provided with a ramp 27 forming a stop and engaged by pegs 28 on the abutment 21 when the cab is in tilted position to prevent downward movement of the rod 18 relative to the cab 11.
